Character and Citizenship Education (CCE)
CCE is an integral element as part of our school’s holistic development of our students. The goal of CCE is to develop our students to become self-directed learners, confident people, active contributors and concerned citizens.
CCE Curriculum Content Areas
1. Form Teacher Guidance Periods (FTGP) and CCE Lessons (Mother Tongue)
Students undertake these lessons weekly where they are taught values and social emotional skills explicitly e.g. understanding emotions and how to regulate them, learning how to manage relationships, developing a sense of purpose in life.
2. National Education (NE)
Students participate in a range of school efforts for them to experience and explore our national identity as Singaporeans, understand realities and challenges unique to our nation, and foster a sense of hope and belonging to Singapore.
3. Values In Action (VIA)
Students participate in a range of VIA activities which enables them to apply values, knowledge and skills. Students will reflect on their experiences and explore how they can continue to contribute meaningfully as individuals.
4. Education and Career Guidance
ECG equips students with knowledge, skills and values to make informed decisions at each key education stage for successful transition from school to further education or work.
5. Cyberwellness (CW)
CW focuses on the well-being of our students as they navigate cyberspace, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to harness the power of ICT for positive purposes, maintain a positive presence in cyberspace, and be safe and responsible uses of ICT.
6. Family Education (FE)
Students learn about being responsible family members, and to be grateful for the role their families play in shaping who they are and who they become through lessons.
7. Sexuality Education (SEd)
SEd enables students to understand the physiological, social and emotional changes they experience as they mature, develop healthy and rewarding relationships including those with members of the opposite sex, and make wise, informed and responsible decisions on sexuality matters.
8. Rewards and Recognition (R & R)
Students who demonstrate consistent, exemplary behaviour are affirmed and recognised through various platforms such as Conduct Grade, Praise Cards, Model Student Award and Edusave Character Award.
